- It’s all about quality control at KEOFITT
When unboxing a KEOFITT product, a seal secures the box which has to be broken to ensure the product they are unboxing has been thoroughly tested and approved – with a 100% guarantee.
One may wonder how we do this – maybe random samples are taken and tested, but this is not the case at KEOFITT.
Every valve is assembled with qualified parts, by qualified people, and put through a series of tests – each and every valve. These valves receive serial numbers and come with documents by serial number. Qualified, experienced technicians assemble thousands of valves every year, and are an integral part of the KEOFITT process. Technicians such as Kasper Vilhelmsen:
“It is almost like I know how it should feel. I put the valves to life by having them in my hands and in this process, I just know if something is wrong,” explains KEOFITT Assembly and Logistics Coordinator Kasper Vilhelmsen.
When Kasper receives a delivery from our Danish manufacturers, he starts by laying out all the small bagged parts in front of him and checks if everything is in order. He then continues to the valve bodies, which he carefully places on the shelf for the incoming, uninspected products. To the outsider, the inspection system may seem very basic, but after 300,000 delivered valves, KEOFITT has broken the process down into its most basic elements and proceeds without a misplaced step.
Kasper elaborates on the process:
“When we get all the valve parts I follow a written routine. I start by going through them to see if everything is in order. Then, when everything is placed correctly, I take a batch of bodies, and I carefully check every body individually to see if there are any manufacturing flaws from the production companies, any scratches or mistakes. These companies follow a very rigid inspection routine as well before shipping parts out for final assembly,” he says and continues:
“I rarely find something, but I still need to check. When the valves have passed inspection, I place the batch on the shelf for inspected items, and I can then move on to assembling valve heads.”
"You should never gamble with your sample, which is exactly why we do not take any chances with our testing as well"
The work environment at Keofitt is very relaxed, but we are dead-serious when it comes to ensuring quality for our customers and end-users.
“I do not know the amount of valve bodies and heads I have assempled, but it is enough to know when the product feels right and when something feels wrong. When I can see, feel and measure that the valve heads are up to our standards in quality, I pressure-test them. Every single valve-head is installed in a test fixture and pressure tested to make sure they meet the specification,” Kasper explains and then underlines:
“Proper assembling of the head will guarantee success in test,” he says with confidence in his voice.
It is only when the quality inspection is over, that Kasper can seal the box ensuring that the product inside has been 100 % quality tested. You should never gamble with your sample, which is exactly why we do not take any chances with our testing as well.
